17 At TPC Sawgrass = The Bermuda Triangle Of Golf-Balls

This past weekend was one for the books. The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, was must watch golf. Had Sergio Garcia in the lead early, had Westwood and Bryson trading swings at the top, then you had JT with a 3rd and 4th round surge !!! The real story was 17 and the absolute terror it brought during the entire tourney. Reminds me of 15 on the Wolf Course at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort. Pete Dye happened to also design all three courses at Paiute as he did TPC Sawgrass. I have put many of the balls in water on 15 and would put many in the water at 17.

In 4 Rounds of golf the Bermuda Triangle, The Lock Ness Monster, The Black Hole, Moby Dick or whatever other name you can come up with to describe 17, a total of 66 balls touched down in the water. That is bananas to me, I have never seen anything like it. It was good TV though, made us all feel like OOOO these guys are human and deal with the same hardships we all do on the course. Then you realize that only happened to them on 1 hole and it happens to you on 9-10 holes a round. Hey a glimmer of hope is always good !!!
