We all use different reservation platforms to book tee times. Some are better than others. Personally for me I only book through Golf Now. Its quick, easy and get rebates the more I book.
As we all know courses drop prices later in the day. If time isn't an issue book later and save money. I will scroll through all courses available, on Golf Now and see what has the best value for that day. Sometimes you can get a great deal on a normally expensive course. Very rarely, do I have an exact course I want to play. I like to browse and see what's available. Hot Deals is a god send. If you book well in advance you can save $20+ per tee time. Its well worth the advanced booking to save a nice chunk of change.
I try to always book the tee times for the group. The more bookings, I get the more points I accumulate and before you know it you have multiple rebates in your account. The points can be used towards standard tee times or Hot Deals booked 3 days in advance. So in addition to the already discounted price of the Hot Deal, you can save additional money by using your points.
Booking on a courses website is usually much more expensive then using a reservation platform such as Golf Now or Supreme Golf. Do your research and pick the best tee time and course for the money. An extra 10 minutes could save you a couple hundred for your group. That saved money could be spent on whiskey, beer and apparel in the clubhouse.
